Privacy Policy — CASTADI Player

CASTADI Player is designed to run on Android devices installed as fixed digital displays/screens (e.g., signage devices, tablets, smart TVs) at a business or personal location. It is not intended for use as a general consumer app on personal mobile phones.

2.1 Location Data (GPS)

CASTADI Player collects precise device location (GPS coordinates) for one purpose only:
To record the exact physical installation location of the screen/device at the time of setup and activation.

This location is used to:

• Confirm and register where a screen is physically installed
• Display the screen's location on the CASTADI dashboard for the screen owner/operator
• Help verify screen placement for content scheduling and reporting purposes

We do not use location data to track movement, monitor individuals, or follow the device throughout the day. Location is captured at setup/activation and periodically re-verified only to confirm the device has not been moved from its registered installation point.

2.2 Device Information

To operate reliably, the App collects:

• Device identifiers (used to generate a unique, encrypted device activation code)
• Device model, Android OS version, and hardware specifications
• App version and diagnostic/crash logs (for troubleshooting)

2.3 Content Data

• Photos and videos you upload for display are stored securely and transmitted to the registered device for playback.
• Playlist and scheduling configuration data associated with your account/screen.

2.4 Network & Sync Data

• Basic connectivity status (online/offline) to manage content caching and sync.
• Push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) used solely to deliver content updates to the correct device.

2.5 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect contacts, call logs, SMS, microphone audio, camera images/video (beyond content you explicitly upload for display), or browsing history.
• We do not collect personal information about people who view the screen (e.g., passersby). The App does not use cameras, sensors, or facial recognition to identify or track viewers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

• Device credentials (activation secrets) are generated locally on the device and stored using Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage. Raw secrets are never transmitted — only a secure cryptographic hash is sent to our servers during activation.
• Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
• Uploaded content and location data are stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access limited to authorized personnel.

• Location and device data are retained for as long as the device remains registered/active on the CASTADI platform.
• If a screen/device is deregistered or removed by the owner, associated location and device data are deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

We request only the permissions necessary for the App's core signage functionality.

• Location access is required for initial device activation and setup verification; the App may not function correctly as a registered signage device without it.
• Screen owners/operators can request removal of a device's data by deregistering the device or contacting us directly (see Section 10).
• If you are located in a jurisdiction with data protection rights (e.g., access, correction, deletion of your data), you may exercise these by contacting us.

CASTADI Player is intended for business/commercial signage use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
